3 Players To Watch In The 2016 NFL Draft

This week I wanted to look at some of the guys that we will see at the Senior Bowl next week and get to know them off the field:

Carson Wentz | North Dakota State | QB

Height: 6-6 Weight: 235

This is another quarterback that has been speculated as a nice fit for the Cowboys. Wentz has had his own personal success in college; the 5th year senior has won five FCS Championship Games. He has a well-liked skill set and his senior bowl performance will heavily impact his overall draft stock.

From his twitter and instagram profiles, you can see that he enjoys hunting and spending time with his adorable golden retriever, Henley.

Sterling Shephard | Oklahoma | WR

Height: 5-10. Weight: 195.

Sterling Shephard has been a playmaker for the University of Oklahoma and is a small, shifty slot receiver. He isn’t tall but has the ability to get separation and quickness in his route running.

Shephard’s late father played for the Dallas Cowboys as a wide receiver in 1989-1991. His father was never able to watch him play football at his alma mater Oklahoma but he passed on the love of the game. Shephard wears No. 3 in his honor.

Nick Martin | Notre Dame | Offensive Lineman

Height: 6-4 Weight: 301

Nick Martin is a sound blocker and will be able to learn more when he moves to the pros. His pass protection has been very impressive to scouts that have him seen him play.

If you’re wondering, yes this is Zack Martin’s brother. The Cowboys’ first rounder also played in the Senior Bowl in 2014. Nick Martin has the advantage of watching his brother prepare and transition from college to the NFL.
